Acceptable Usage Policy
Best Rank’s Acceptable Usage Policy, as outlined below, directs the terms of use by any individual, web designer, or third-party consultant granted access. These participants are designated as the Customer; Best Rank is designated as the Provider. In the act of accessing or using any of Best Rank’s services, the customer or third-party consultant agrees that the following terms and conditions listed in this policy will be met.
Overview of Service Suspension
As a professional agency, we must set conditions for the Customers of our services that ensure a safe and functional setting for publishing information on the World Wide Web. We have outlined a number of example scenarios that will likely warrant a service suspension:
- The hosting (known or unknown) of pornographic media by the customer
- The distribution of copyrighted media without the copyright owner’s consent
- Illegal or un-licensed software, torrents, or warez download sites
- Functioning primarily as an open http proxy site
- The sending of large amounts of SPAM email using a customer’s SBRP service or mail script
- The increase in an account’s resource usage that greatly outstrips their allotted resources; this is to verify that the increase in resource usage is not from an external source
- The discovery of a compromised site or hacked script
Web, FTP, Publishing Content Policies
Best Rank’s Hosting Systems will not permit any of the following types of content or links to the following content:
- Pornographic, sexually explicit, or violent content
- "Hate" sites as well as sites or content that could be reasonably considered libelous, slanderous
- Illegal, stolen, or copyrighted material
- Pirated software sites or materials
When Best Rank discovers the posting of any of the above content on a customer’s site, the customer may be suspended, and will be notified to take corrective actions. If customer fails to take corrective actions in a timely manner, provider will suspend services. A repeat infraction may result in cancelation of services without refund of any fees.
The customer is not permitted to allow another website or hosting server to link to content files stored on provider’s servers. Customers may not use hosting account as a remote storage service only; 75% of customer’s content files stored on provider’s server must have associated HTML or PHP files linking to the content stored.
Email Usage Policies
Best Rank does not and will not support the sending of any SPAM or junk email. Unsolicited email messages sent by customers using our system, or submitted through other systems referencing the customer’s website will be suspended. Further contact between the customer and Best Rank can result in the reinstatement of services, but repeated violations may cause full cancellation without a refund.
Excessive Hosting and Service Striping
A customer is not to participate in excessive stripping, which is the condition in which two or more hosting services are stored with duplicate content, in order to increase their allocation of bandwidth, disk space, GPUs, or other resources in an effort to avoid fees on a single service plan. Closing or canceling services before resource limits are reached and opening a new service with similar or identical content with the intention of using the additional resources to avoid overages also counts as excessive striping.
Content and resource striping is generally permitted only on load-balancer enabled products and products which feature consolidated bandwidth billing. Any other form of content striping will be considered excessive and may result in a service suspension.
Illegal Activities
Illegal activities, including, but not limited to credit card fraud, vandalism, theft, threats, or violence, will not be tolerated. Customers found using our system for illegal activities will have their accounts canceled immediately without the refund of any fees.
Hostnames, IP Addresses
Best Rank, the provider, will remain the solitary owner of all IP network addresses within the provider’s network. The modification by the customer of any TCP/IP configuration that will conflict with or disrupt network service may result in suspension or immediate cancelation of the customer’s account if it is not allocated to the customer by provider. Best Rank reserves the right to alter the customer’s underlying IP network address for upgrades, securities, network migration, or other services. Efforts will be taken to retain the permanency of a customer’s allocated IP address.
